It's Fall!

I love fall. For me it starts the day after Labor Day and ends the day after Thanksgiving. I think it's way too short a season, but I do what I can with the time I'm given. I have my fall movies, decorations, food, candles, and crafts. This year I'm trying to make slipcovers for my chairs. I've never done anything like that before, usually I stick to desserts, but this year I'm branching out.

The kids love fall too. The weather is great for outdoor adventures, and now that we have added a dog to the family, I'm sure the adventures will be plenty.

My big surprise

This past weekend was my 11th anniversary. Coincidentally the days fell on the exact days of our wedding and it was also Labor Day weekend when we were married, so what better time to go on a second anniversary? That is exactly what Vincent was thinking because he booked a surprise weekend stay at Disney (where we went on our honeymoon). All of last week he would hint to what he was doing but never gave it away, which is okay because I love surprises. It wasn't until we made the turn on I-4 exiting to the Magic Kingdom that I knew what he had done. The surprises didn't stop at the park, he had booked us a room at the Grand Floridian! I have to say, if this is how the elite live, sign me up! The hotel was absolutely beautiful. I would have been perfectly happy sleeping on one of the sofas in the lobby. The room was so pretty with it's own balcony overlooking the lagoon. Vincent had done all of this planning, by his-self. He booked the hotel, purchased the tickets, and even asked my sister to babysit. All I had to do was have a good time. And a good time I did have! The park was decorated for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween. All of the fall colors was a very welcome change from all of the summer themes that have been around. We had such a fun time, it was almost like it was on our honeymoon, no kids, we got to ride all of the grown-up rides, and the only thing I had to worry about was making sure I had my purse. It was great.
